Pamela Pitcairn-Knowles

26th May 1939 – 4th December 2022

It is with great sadness that we are sharing the news that our dear friend and colleague, Pamela, passed away on Monday 5th December
She will be very, very much missed by her family and friends and of course by some of the wider Sevenoaks community in which she was so involved.

We know this news may come as a surprise to many people who knew Pamela, as she was such a vibrant, healthy person.
We were all shocked by the very sudden and recent discovery that Pamela had developed lymphoma.
She passed away after a brief time in hospital, looking every bit the glamorous, beautiful person she always had been.

Pamela will be especially missed by everyone at Springbank.
The clinic was started by her husband, Richard, many decades ago and when Richard retired their son, Mark, took over and expanded the clinic to what it is today.  Throughout, Pamela’s presence had been a constant and she was an integral part of the day to day running of the clinic for so many years.   Her ‘insider knowledge’ was invaluable as was her relentless energy and efficiency.  She adapted to all the changes that time and technology threw at her and was still running the reception desk every Saturday morning well into her 80th decade.

Pamela was a true ‘lady’ in every sense and we know that she will be remembered affectionately by everyone who knew her.

There is a JustGiving page set up for the Venkat Trust, a charity close to Pamela’s heart. The Venkat Trust provides and improves educational facilities for children and young people in the Indian fishing village of Kovalam, near Chennai in Tamil Nadu.

We will be celebrating Pamela’s life on Friday 13th January at the Bluebell Cemetery in Knockholt at 13:45. Pamela asked for everyone to wear bright clothes and no black ties!
