We’re delighted to share that our new clinic room at Springbank is finally finished and open!

Those of you who have been visiting the clinic over recent months may have watched the new space taking shape — and perhaps wondered what was being built! We can now reveal that it is the new home of Dr Melissa Bujtor’s Specialist Dietetic Practice here at Springbank Clinic in Sevenoaks.

Dr Bujtor is an HCPC Registered Dietitian and AfN Registered Nutritionist, providing dietetic assessment and treatment across a broad range of nutritional concerns, with particular expertise in paediatric dietetics, feeding difficulties and ARFID, eating disorders and women’s health.

Her clinical work is broad, spanning nutrition, growth, feeding and eating across different ages and stages of life. She works with individuals and families experiencing selective or restricted eating, feeding development difficulties, sensory differences affecting eating, ARFID, food anxiety, nutritional deficiencies, faltering growth and gastrointestinal concerns. She also provides specialist dietetic care for eating disorders, alongside a wider range of clinical dietetic concerns.

Within women’s health, Dr Bujtor’s practice includes PCOS, endometriosis, fertility and preconception, pregnancy and postnatal nutrition, perimenopause and menopause, digestive health, bone and metabolic health and healthy ageing.

Underpinning all of this is an approach that begins with understanding — health, nutrition and the realities of everyday life.
From there, she brings together dietetics, nutrition science, psychology and current evidence to shape an approach around the individual rather than applying a standard programme.

The purpose-designed room provides a dedicated space for specialist dietetic care for children, young people and adults. Alongside a comfortable area for consultations, it includes a full kitchen for cooking and practical food work, as well as food, books, toys and specialist resources that can be incorporated into assessment and intervention.

The new space is particularly valuable when working with individuals with feeding and eating difficulties. Effective intervention often needs to go beyond talking about food. Having a dedicated kitchen and clinical space means Dr Bujtor can work practically with individuals and their families — preparing and cooking foods, supporting food exposure, exploring unfamiliar foods and developing skills and confidence around eating in a calm and supportive environment.

Being based at Springbank Clinic in Sevenoaks also creates opportunities to work collaboratively with other clinicians when someone’s care would benefit from a multidisciplinary approach — bringing specialist dietetics into the wider clinical care available here at Springbank.

Patients come with complex lives and, often, overlapping needs; having experienced professionals from different disciplines working alongside one another creates opportunities for genuinely joined-up care.

The team has a strong culture of collaboration. Practitioners can consult with one another, meet around more complex cases and, where helpful, arrange joint appointments — so care can be brought together rather than fragmented across multiple services. For

Dr Bujtor’s patients, that means specialist dietetic care sits within a much broader clinical environment, with trusted expertise close at hand when it is needed.
